How much charge changes a droplet?
Charge adds another force to a droplet’s motion, but the response depends on size, drag, charge history and the surrounding field. Ideal isolated-droplet models are useful for scale estimates. In a real population, mixing, charge transfer, evaporation and collisions can change the state while it is being measured.
Questions worth measuring
- Are charge and wet droplet size measured together?
- Is a low-Reynolds-number drag approximation adequate?
- Does a population shift reflect growth, evaporation or removal?
The records below are a starting point for those questions. Read the original methods and results before applying a finding outside the tested setting.
