What is in the index?
Fog microphysics and visibility, electrical droplet processes, fog collection, atmospheric electricity, cloud seeding, aerosol activation, lightning and atmospheric lasers, measurement, cloud remote sensing, plume recovery and atmospheric modeling.
Thirty-three topic-specific title searches returned up to 45 journal-article records each. Keyword screening was followed by manual title screening of the final selection. Narrow categories were not filled with unrelated records to meet a uniform quota.
Edition 1 contains 266 distinct DOI records: 250 bibliographic records and 16 entries with a scoped evidence note. The publication cutoff is 11 October 2026.
Two review statuses
Metadata indexed
Bibliographic fields were verified against a primary metadata response and the title was screened for topical relevance. Article contents and scientific conclusions have not been reviewed by Weatherhill.
Scoped evidence note
The research team read the primary material identified in reviewSources and checked the specific, limited claim described in notes. reviewScope states whether this was full text, selected sections, or an abstract/result check. This is not independent replication or a blanket endorsement.
Metadata provenance
Publisher-deposited bibliographic records retrieved through the public Crossref REST API. Reviewed anchors also link to the primary material that was consulted.
Deduplication
Case-normalized DOI plus normalized title; reviewed anchors replace matching indexed records. Stable IDs combine a title slug and an eight-character DOI hash.
Dates and precision
Dates are taken from publisher-deposited published-online, published-print, published and issued fields. The earliest eligible deposited date is retained. Precision is preserved as year, month or day. Partial date intervals must fall wholly on or before 2026-10-11; no date is inferred from the DOI string. Crossref dates can reflect digital republication rather than first historical publication.
Research and review labels
An editorial navigation label: titles explicitly identifying a review, overview, survey or state-of-the-art paper are labeled review; other selected journal-article metadata records are labeled research. These labels are not a verified classification of study design. evidenceType is supplied only for reviewed anchors.
Open-access links
openAccessUrl is supplied only for a primary repository or journal page that was actually accessed as openly available. The absence of this field does not imply a paywall. DOI links are provided for every record.
Record validation
Every final record was programmatically matched to its retained primary API response for DOI, title, complete deposited author list, publication date, journal, and identifier. All final titles were manually screened for scope; DOI, title and ID uniqueness were checked.
Coverage limits
- This is a curated discovery index, not a systematic review, exhaustive bibliography, citation ranking or quality assessment.
- Search-engine ranking, English-language queries, DOI registration and publisher metadata availability influence coverage. A relevant paper may be absent.
- The indexed status does not establish that an intervention works. Papers may report null results, models, laboratory work, or disputed interpretations.
- Bulk metadata records were not independently audited against complete publisher full texts; deposited metadata can contain errors.
- No copyrighted article full texts or abstracts are included. Only bibliographic metadata, links and original, narrowly scoped anchor notes are stored.
What the calculators do
The tools expose a stated model, its input units and its limitations. Scientific examples are synthetic unless you load your own dataset. A curve drawn by the browser is a calculation, not an experimental observation.
The paired-analysis tool uses independent-day means and a Student t interval, with systematic bias expanded separately. The sample planner is explicitly an approximate planning tool; the protocol’s final planning calculation is more specific.
Versioned experimental decisions
WX-FOG-001 v0.2 sets out the proposed qualification, discovery and confirmation sequence. Its design choices have not been demonstrated by weatherhill. Changes to a protocol should be dated, justified and fixed before the data they govern are observed.
Images and product status
FogLab images are supplied concept artwork. The website’s controls and calculations are functional; the pictured apparatus is not presented as built, tested, certified or available for sale.
