d = ln[(βdown,C/βup,C)/(βdown,D/βup,D)] E = 1−exp(−mean(d))
MODEL & BOUNDARIES

Know what the result means.

Two matched C/D pairs per independent day, positive valid extinction inputs and a predeclared analysis. This browser tool calculates the stated optical endpoint; it cannot certify metrology, delivered exposure, exclusions, independence or readiness. Example data are synthetic.

Version 1.0 · SI quantities are used internally, with displayed input units converted explicitly. Retain your assumptions with any exported result.

Read the endpoint correctly.

For each matched pair, the tool compares downstream-to-upstream extinction in the passive collector condition C with the powered condition D. It calculates the difference of their log ratios, then averages the two pair effects within each independent day. The confidence interval is based on the variation between day means.

A positive reduction means the normalized extinction is lower in D. Negative values remain visible. The statistical interval uses a Student t distribution; the declared systematic bias bound expands the interval separately in log space.

Before loading real data

Use transit-aligned, qualified means with positive extinction values. Provide exactly two matched pairs per independent preparation day, with a distinct pair identifier. The browser can validate the table’s structure; your experiment must establish preparation independence, exposure validity, exclusions and calibration.
