What has been guided, and at what scale?
A demonstration that guides part of a lightning path answers a different question from making rain or preventing a storm. Atmospheric laser experiments depend on propagation conditions, timing and the existing electrical environment. Read their geometry, measured interaction length and number of events before extrapolating to a useful system.
Questions worth measuring
- Was a discharge initiated, intercepted or guided?
- What length and fraction of events were measured?
- What outcome was directly observed rather than inferred?
The records below are a starting point for those questions. Read the original methods and results before applying a finding outside the tested setting.
