Water recovery

Connect collected water, complete system energy and the practical constraints of a defined water source.

Keep the water and energy ledgers together.

A measured mass of recovered water is a useful endpoint for a recovery application. Its interpretation depends on the water entering the system, the passive contribution, drainage losses, device uptime and the energy needed to operate the complete process.

The next quantities to define

  • Meter wall power, including necessary air movement and auxiliaries.
  • Weigh collected water over a declared interval and quantify evaporation or storage changes.
  • Keep water-normalized energy and air-normalized energy separate.
  • Characterize the source water and the required downstream treatment.
The first FogLab experiment does not certify potable water, industrial readiness or a commercial return. Water mass is a supporting endpoint alongside the primary optical measurement.

Research context

Commercial context, checked 11 October 2026: Infinite Cooling’s current site emphasizes cooling analytics, while its WaterPanel page still describes electrostatic plume capture available through selected licensing partners. A change in homepage emphasis alone does not establish that a hardware program has ended.

  1. Development and evaluation of a hybrid membrane condenser for water recovery from cooling tower plume
  2. Performance Improvement of Wave Plate Mist Eliminator through Geometry Modification
  3. A hybrid cooling tower model for plume abatement and performance analysis
