Can the measurement carry the claim?
A repeatable change in a sensor is only useful when the sensor is measuring the intended quantity. Fog experiments add transit delays, wet optics, size-dependent sampling losses and changing inlet conditions. The protocol therefore treats measurement qualification and systematic bias separately from statistical confidence.
Questions worth measuring
- Is the upstream reference matched to the downstream transit time?
- Which uncertainty components are random, and which are bounded biases?
- What is independently prepared: a reading, a run or a day?
The records below are a starting point for those questions. Read the original methods and results before applying a finding outside the tested setting.
